The Fimisters were formed in the early 90’s in Trenton, ON. The band was started by five teenagers looking to write and play good music, blow off steam
and have some fun. The Fimisters quickly found some hometown success performing in the area and winning multiple battle of the bands titles. A few years later, they had found
a small place in the eastern Ontario music scene; playing shows weekly at venues li
ke AJ’s Hangar, Stages, Gas Works and Lee’s Palace.
Their unique style, with influences from bands such as The Smiths, Smashing Pumpkins, Sugar and the Tragically Hip, became popular on the university and college circuits. By 1995 the band was touring their self-titled album and opening shows for Our Lady Peace, The Headstones, Weeping Tile as well as other great Canadian bands.
As their success and fan base grew, they went through multiple lineup changes, mostly due to members heading off to school. They went through bass players like Spinal Tap went through drummers. And then it all ended abruptly. In 1996, they decided to pack it in due to the increasing responsibilities of adulthood.
In 2014, with the encouragement of friends, five guys sat in a room and talked, played some old songs, laughed and reminisced. The band reunited to write and play good songs, blow off steam and have some fun.
The Fimisters are: Cory, Colin, Rob, Andrew and Baz. After a nearly 20 year hiatus the boys are back. They will take their listeners through a powerful rollercoaster ride from modern alternative rock to grooving rhythms that are perfect for a long car ride.
